OPTS ASSURES NUPRC OF COLLABORATION & PARTNERSHIP – 16TH NOVEMBER 2021

The pioneer Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Engr. Gbenga Komolafe FNSE received Executives of the Oil Producers Trade Section led by its Chairman, Engr Rick Kennedy for a stakeholder engagement at the National Oil and Gas Excellence Centre (NOGEC) Lagos recently.
The CCE thanked the delegation for honouring his invitation at short notice. He emphasized the critical role of the OPTS to the success of upstream business and investment in the Nigeria oil and gas industry. He appealed for collaboration and partnership with OPTS for a smooth take off of the NUPRC. He enjoined the members to identify areas of mutual interest, collaboration and improvement with the view to synergize and chat a way forward for the upstream oil and gas sub-sector.
In his response, the Chairman OPTS, Engr Rick Kennedy thanked the CCE for the warm welcome and congratulated him as the pioneer CCE of the Commission. He also thanked him for reaching out to the OPTS for collaboration and mutually beneficial interest. The Chairman identify certain sections in the PIA and appealed to the CCE for clarification and proper interpretation from a regulatory perspective for the benefit of its members.
The CCE thanked the delegation and reassured them of the Commission’s collaboration for the sustainable development of the nation’s hydrocarbon resources in overriding interest of the Country and the investors.
