Courtesy Visit to DPR By the New Executive of The National Association of Energy Correspondents (NAEC)

The head of the Public Affairs Unit (PAU) of the DPR, Mr. Paul Osu in company of the entire Public Affairs team, welcomed the new Executive of the National Association of Energy Correspondents (NAEC) on behalf of the Director of Petroleum Resources.

The five-man delegation led by its new Chairman, Mr. Olatunde Dodondawa (Energy Editor for the Tribune Newspaper), used the visit to discuss improved ways of collaboration between the DPR and the association. The delegation sought for inclusiveness in the coverage of DPR’s supervisory and regulatory activities of the entire oil and gas value chain.

Responding, Mr. Paul Osu assured the delegation of improved collaboration and plans by the Department to organize a capacity development workshop for Energy Correspondents, to broaden their knowledge and understanding of activities, specific role of the DPR and recent developments in the industry. He promised an improvement in the rotational cycle of correspondents covering the activities of the DPR. He thanked the Chairman for the critical role the association plays in the reporting of Oil and Gas activities in Nigeria.

The chairman and visiting EXCO used the opportunity to invite the Department to its forthcoming annual conference scheduled to hold on the 16th of March 2018 in Lagos.
