The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), through its Exploration and Acreage Management Department, convened an industry wide stakeholder meeting to advance its Deep Play Exploration Drilling initiative.

Aimed at proposing an incentive based framework, the meeting seeks to encourage deeper hydrocarbon exploration efforts in a bid to unlock untapped reserves and support Nigeria’s national reserves growth aspiration.

Key industry stakeholders were in attendance, including representatives from the Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS), Independent Petroleum Producers Group (IPPG) and international oil companies (IOCs). Discussions centered on regulatory support, operational incentives, and collaborative strategies to attract investment into deep play exploration across Nigeria’s upstream sector.
