DPR Director advocates high standards for downstream operations

At the just concluded 8th Edition of the Oil Trading and Logistics Expo (OTL) which held 28-30 October, 2014 at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, the Director of Petroleum Resources, Mr. George Osahon enjoined operators in the downstream sector of the oil & gas industry of Nigeria to maintain a high level of consistency in their service delivery in keeping with the industry’s global best practice and standards.

Mr. Osahon communicated this through a paper “TANK FARMS, TANKER VESSELS AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE IN PETROLEUM PRODUCTS SUPPLY”, presented on his behalf by the Assistant Director in charge of Retail Outlets Monitoring (ROM) Mr. Usman Ndanusa.

The Director also used the opportunity to highlight DPR’s primary role and scope of activities in the regulation of downstream operations and advised participants at the event and all stakeholders to always comply with the Department’s statutory laws and guidelines in order not to truncate their operations.
