DPR DIRECTOR APPLAUDS SEPLAT FOR ITS GAS DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS AND LOCAL CONTENT INITIATIVES IN THE NIGERIAN OIL AND GAS SECTOR

The Director/CEO of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Engr. Sarki Auwalu MNSE , made this commendation during a courtesy visit by Management of Seplat to the Director at DPR headquarters office in lagos recently.

The five-member delegation was led by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ojunekwu Augustine Avuru.

The Director commended Seplat for their business strategy and focus on gas development which is a key revenue earner to Government and Stakeholders of the Nigerian oil and gas Industry.

Nigeria’s 2P reserve stands at 200.79 TCF as at 1st January 2019.

However, it is estimated that Nigerian gas resources could be up to 600 TCF, which is approximately 100 trillion barrels of oil equivalent (boe), making Nigeria essentially a gas province.

Engr. Sarki applauded Seplat for being at the forefront of gas amongst indigenous oil and gas operators. He commended them for changing the lives of Nigerians by engaging and developing local content competencies in the sector.

The Director presented the visiting CEO with copies of the Nigerian Oil & Gas Industry Annual Report (NOGIAR) and Compendium of Oil & Gas Laws & Regulations.
