DPR EXHIBITS AT THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF OFFSHORE WEST AFRICA (OWA) 2016

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) participated in the recently concluded OWA conference and exhibition which held 26th – 28th of January, 2016 at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The theme of this year’s conference “POSITIONING FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE” was chosen to underscore the effort and concerted response within the Nigerian oil & gas industry in particular and the sub-regional hub in general, to revise strategies with which to cushion the impact of the current global oil price reverse, its lowest since 2004.

owa2Part of the reaction therefore, as witnessed during the 3-day summit, was to explore areas of strategic consolidation and corporate synergies to enhance growth opportunities in the sector.

Consequently, the conference provided a platform for a robust discuss and analysis of a broad range of opinions and ideas as espoused by various resource persons and participants. There were new technologies and conceptual designs on display as well as a variety of e–platforms and applications to deploy these new methods.

DPR added to this initiative by providing updated Concession Maps, Mineral Oil Safety Regulations and the revised Annual Statistical Bulletin to guide operators and potential new investors.
