NUPRC CCE RATES TOTALENERGIES WITH 3 STAR

The Commission’s Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Engr Gbenga Komolafe has expressed satisfaction with TotalEnergies for adhering to operational guidelines in its areas of operations in the Nigerian Oil and Gas fields.

Engineer Komolafe made the commendation when the Managing Director of TotalEnergies, Mathieu Bouyer led a team of his company’s officials to NUPRC for a discussion on issues of decommissioning and abandonment fund and future planned projects in their area’s operations.

Engr Komolafe who was emphatic on the commission’s determination to drive stability and inflow of investment into the Nigerian Oil and Gas Sector, applauded TotalEnergies for meeting up with its obligations to the Host community trust fund, by fully funding all it’s 5 HCDT amounting to the tune of fifteen Million Dollars. According to the NUPRC’s Chief Executive, TotalEnergies has reached a benchmark of three (3) billion Barrels within its six decades of Operations in Nigeria.

In the area of Gas flaring reduction and decarbonization, Engr. Komolafe also acknowledged the efforts of TotalEnergies for abiding by the regulations of clean Operations, through its Gas fare out project on OML 100, another first achievement in the industry.

While rolling out the Commission’s policy of opening up business opportunities in the Upstream sector through its automated regulatory process, the CCE, said the NUPRC is working out modalities for bringing down the unit cost of production per barrel.

The CCE further commended TotalEnergies for being the first company to convert under the PIA conversion provision.

The TotalEnergies Managing Director, Mr. Mathieu Bouyer, while responding to Engr. Komolafe’s commendations and brief, expressed his company’s readiness to collaborate with the Commission and expand their investment with strict compliance to the law.
