NOTICE OF CONSULTATION WITH STAKEHOLDERS ON PHASE TWO (2) OF REGULATIONS DEVELOPMENT IN COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 216 OF THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY ACT 2021 (PIA)

THE NIGERIAN UPSTREAM PETROLEUM REGULATORY COMMISSION

NOTICE OF CONSULTATION WITH STAKEHOLDERS ON PHASE TWO {2} OF REGULATIONS DEVELOPMENT IN COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 216 OF THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY ACT 2021 (PIA)

  1. In compliance with section 216 {1} of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 on consultation with Stakeholders prior to finalising any Regulations, the Nigerian upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (Commission) hereby invites inputs from the lessees, licensees, permit holders, Host Communities, and other Stakeholders in the Nigerian Upstream petroleum sector, within Twenty-one {21} days from the date of this publication.
  2. The matters to which this Stakeholder’s inputs and consultation relates are as follows:
    • Upstream Decommissioning and Abandonment Regulations
    • Upstream Environmental Remediation Fund Regulations
    • Acreage Management {Drilling and Production} Regulations
    • Upstream Petroleum Safety Regulations
    • Unitisation Regulations
    • Upstream Petroleum Environmental Regulations
    • Nigeria Frontier Exploration Fund Regulations
  3. Stakeholders are kindly enjoined to log on to this link https://www.nuprc.gov.ng/regulations-development-pia-2021/ download and review the proposed Regulations. Accordingly, submissions of inputs to the Regulations are hereby requested as part of the process of stakeholder’s consultation prior to finalisation of the Regulations, to give meaning to the intent of the PIA, 2021.
  4. All submissions must be made using the format accessible through this link https://www.nuprc.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/NUPRC-Regulations-Comments-Sheet.xlsx  and must be received at the email below NO LATER THAN 21 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THIS NOTICE.
