UNITED STATES TRADE AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (USTDA) SEEKS COLLABORATION WITH NIGERIAN UPSTREAM PETROLEUM REGULATORY COMMISSION (NUPRC)

The United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) Led by it’s Regional Director Sub-Sahara Africa, Heather K. Lanigan and three senior officials of USTDA paid a courtesy visit to the Commission Chief Executive NUPRC Engr. Gbenga Komolafe FNSE at the NUPRC head office in Abuja recently.

 

The visit which was a follow up to ongoing discussions between the agency and the commission from the recently concluded CERA Week in the United States of America, seeks for collaboration in areas of mutual interests between the two agencies.

 

The officials informed the CCE that USTDA was willing to collaborate with NUPRC in the arreas of technical expertise development and funding for critical oil and gas infrastructure projects in Key areas of the upstream sector.

 

In his response, Engr. Komolafe thanked the delegation for the visit and reassured USTDA of NUPRC’s support and collaboration towards the sustainable development of Nigeria’s huge oil and gas resources, in overriding interest of our nation and all stakeholders. He emphasised that the Commission is a “Business Enabler” and as such, is focused on driving foreign direct investments for the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

 

The engagement with USTDA is a welcomed development and NUPRC is open to further discussions towards the successful realisation of the set objectives by both agencies.
