The Director/CEO of the Department of Petroleum Resources represented by Lagos Zonal Operations Controller Engr Ayorinde Cardoso declared open the 2020 Annual Oil Spillage Contingency Plan Activation and HSE Audit Exercise for Nigerian Agip Exploration (NAE) Abo Field, OML 125.

The objective of the exercise was to ensure that loss prevention and emergency response plans are robust enough to protect the personnel onboard the FPSO and assets of the operating company.

In his opening speech, he commended NAE on the successful drilling campaign of Abo-4 and Abo-10 Side Track wells. This has contributed in boosting daily production to 69 per cent volumes from the field and for the country. NAE was encouraged to ensure that proper asset integrity and environmental stewardship is integrated into its daily operations.
