DPR represented at the Energy Institute’s Nigeria Producers Forum

DPR has reiterated government’s commitment to support and provide enabling environment for indigenous players in upstream sector to maximize the local potentials. This was stated by Engr. Alfred Ohiani, Head, Engineering & Standards Division in a keynote address at the one-day Workshop on “Enhancing the oil & gas value chain for the domestic market” organized by the Energy Institute for Nigerian Producers Forum.

Ohiani who represented the Acting Director of Petroleum of Resources, Mr. Mordecai Ladan, at the event that held in Lagos, spoke on “Value chain development by indigenous operators and the Nigerian economy”. He recalled that DPR had made numerous efforts to support Marginal Field Operators, including convening stakeholders’ forums that brought the Marginal Fields operators, financial institutions and international operators together to explore opportunities and share technical expertise. According to him, the initiatives by DPR were aimed at giving indigenous operators the necessary platform to leverage resources to unearth the depth of potentials in the sector.
