HAPPENING LIVE FROM KADUNA: DPR TAKES LEAD IN COLLABORATION WITH RELEVANT STAKEHOLDERS TOWARDS EVACUATION OF KADUNA GAS EXPLOSION SITE.

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) led by the Head HSE Kaduna Zonal office, Mr. Paul Jezhi and other relevant stakeholders are currently embarking on an on-site evacuation of the location of the recent fatal gas explosion, which claimed lives and caused damage to property worth million’s of Naira in Kaduna recently.

It must be emphasised that, it is critical to ensure best safety practices and due diligence in the way we conduct the operations of oil and gas business in Nigeria. The unfortunate incident would have been avoided if due process was followed.

However, the DPR is committed to a safe implementation of the LPG penetration initiatives of the Federal Government in line with global best practice.

Some of the stakeholders involved with the evacuation exercise include: The Kaduna Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA) represented by it’s General Manager, Mr. Usman M. Lawal, officials of the Fire Service, SON, BOC, Medical Personnel from KASTELEA Traffic & Medics/Ambulance Services and Security personnel from the NSCDC.
